Our Voice
Carol Macatee

Beginning with Ash Wednesday, Lent is a time for both repentance and reflection. It is a time to remember that Jesus died to save us. Jesus was tried and crucified, died and was buried.  He endured the shame of false accusations, condemnation, mockery, beatings, and abandonment. The soldiers spat on Him and pierced him with a crown of thorns.
While Lent is a time that brings sadness to our hearts, it culminates in a time to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus at Easter. This is the most important event of the Christian faith—a time for joy. Therefore, we have undeniable evidence that Jesus is the Messiah—King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Hallelujah! We serve a Risen Savior.

Greetings, Rev.

This newsletter is the first of (hopefully) many more, as we see greater Christian community at St. Mark's. We want to do that by, first, connecting with all members, regardless of Sunday attendance.

The second reason has to do with the fact that our Sunday gatherings are filled with words. So we want to visualize—pictures are worth how many words, again?

Third, we want to create a space where all members can participate and anyone can testify of their life experience. (That's the "Our Voice" column on the left.)

These are the elements you'll see on display in future newsletters.

May God bless St. Mark's!
