Our Voice
Here are some of the thanks-giving notes written on our ornaments this year. These are certainly "our voice"! This year, we were grateful for:
– A new pregnancy in our family--more grandbabies!
– Love and support from family during a stressful work year
– My brothers, close church friends, and our pastor plus his lovely family
- Finding my wedding ring
- Caring neighbors
– The time I spend with my family that teach me how to be present
– My fellow tenors who helped me have a wonderful time singing.
– My spouse surviving another year of cancer
– The food on my table
– My family ever since I lost someone special. I love how they teach and guide and love me.
- My cat. May he live a long life.
- An opportunity to share love with so many people
– The blessings you have bestowed on us, Lord. I am thankful for your blessings on my family, your miracles are in my heart.
– Life’s new opportunities and the love and support from friends and family
– The love of God that guides us and keeps our family healthy and safe
– Taking care of me the last two years, especially
- My family who helped us move in, an understanding boss, and for others making us smile again
Greetings, Rev.
A belated Happy New Year to all us here at St. Mark's! God has given us a new year, a new day to live for him. Amidst all our resolutions, would we commit yet again to give him our whole life!
Earlier this month, our members took home the envelopes on our Secret Angel wall. The hope for this mini-project was for mutual encouragement and unity among our members. Upon receiving those notes, one member remarked, "This envelope is one of the greatest treasures I've ever received. It has touched me more deeply than you will ever know."
Another big event since our last edition was a letter of approval from the conference about our grant application! We were approved for $5,000 to use towards the renewal of a room across from the sanctuary, a space that we hope will add new flavor to our time together. "Tell me what's your flava!"
Nearly 4,000 Christmas cards were donated from the churches within our conference to the Philadelphia correctional system. We also contributed a good portion--thank you to those who did! Also thank you to all of us who filled Santa Sacks yet again!
Enjoy the snapshots from our Advent services, Christmas Eve candlelight service, and the other happenings at our church!
